Push boundaries in

Maastricht

The oldest city in the Netherlands is today one of the country's preferred student cities. More than 10 percent of the inhabitants are students, and almost half of those are international. In total almost 20 percent of the Maastricht population (more than 122,000 inhabitants) are involved with higher education in the city – Zuyd Hogeschool and Maastricht University - as students or employees.

A city to love

Maastricht was founded by the Romans as Mosae Trajectum on a strategic crossroads of traffic routes and the Meuse River. The oldest city in the Netherlands is today one of the country's preferred student cities. Its lifestyle and the concentration of bars and restaurants in the historic centre give this city an atmosphere which is atypical for the northern half of Europe. Maastricht has continued to be both a crossroad for travellers and a city worth staying in. Belgium and Germany are literally a bike ride away from the city center. The city is also an ideal starting place for excursions to major European cities such as Amsterdam, Cologne, Brussels or even Paris!

Housing

Accommodation is key to ensuring your well-being during the Leading Hospitality Innovation study programme.

Securing accommodation in Maastricht, Dublin and Barcelona takes time so don’t wait to arrange it because the student housing market gets busier every year. Rent prices vary significantly for a room in a student house or a shared apartment. Additional costs like gas, electricity and water are often excluded.

The Social Hub

To get you off to a good start, each year we reserve a limited amount of rooms at The Social Hub for the Maastricht semester based upon availability. For the semester starting in September '24, more information in terms of availability and rates will follow in January '24.

The Social Hub is more than just a student accommodation to stay in, it’s a place to learn, stay, work and play.  It brings accommodation, hotel rooms, co-working, meetings and events into a safe and inspiring hub. Students can enjoy all-inclusive facilities like laundry and Wi-Fi, safety and security measures, all alongside on-site staff to assist 24/7. Rent includes monthly linen and room cleaning, gym access, free bike sharing and many more facilities.

Rooms are available on a first come first serve basis, so inform us as soon as possible if you wish to reserve your room at the The Social Hub. Once you're admitted to the programme, you will receive more detailed information on this option.
